Walther G22 .22LR Rifles

 

The Walther G22 is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in the .22 Long Rifle cartridge. It has a bullpup design and is constructed of steel and polymer. The Walther G22 features a reversible bolt to enable cartridge ejection from either side of the receiver. It cannot be fired from the off hand due to the proximity of the ejection port and bolt handle to the shooter's face. Held by friction, a spare magazine is stored inside the stock behind the magazine well.

 

The Walther G22 rifle is capable of achieving shot groups as small as 0.25 inches (6.4 mm) at 55 yards (50 meters). From 500 feet away it is still possible to retain the same level of accuracy, especially when using a telescopic sight.

The Walther G22 is generally used as a "fun gun" for civilian informal practice, and it comes in two colors, black and OD green. A scope can also be attached to make longer-range shots. Three Weaver rail mounts are present on the Walther G22: the top handle scope mount, a small mount just below the muzzle intended for a Walther-produced laser sight, and a longer mount under the forend for bipods, flashlights, etc.

The Walther G22 employs an innovative "Bullpup" design for the first time on any Walther .22 rifle. The Walther rifle G22 with its full line of accessories is a utilitarian rifle for hunting, competitive shooting or just plinking.

G22 Details

  • Fire control and magazine integrated into the rear of the stock.
  • This gives an extremely short overall length of 720mm in spite of the optimal 508mm barrel length.
  • The first small-bore rifle in this class available in a genuine left-hand version.
  • Variable-length stock for a custom fit to the shooter. A 20mm extension is included.
  • Adjustable sliding sights.
  • Weaver-style universal rail at the sight mount to accept optics.
  • Weaver-style universal rail at the front sight mount to accept the Walther laser.
  • Weaver-style universal rail at the forearm for a bipod or other accessories.
  • The Walther Safety Package provides a maximum degree of safety during use and when in storage. It consists of a slide safety, cocking indicator, magazine safety and integral lock to protect against unauthorized use.
