P22

Just bought this gun for my wife as she wanted to start shooting with me but had no experience with a pistol. We have run 250 rounds through it with no problem. I did break the gun down and clean it before first use. I do load the mags the same way I do my 9's and .45's. Just take care of the weapon and you will have no problems and have a fun little gun!

good pistol, try using CCI ammo. It's the only ammo that will not jam in mine.

i just purchased my p22 it shoots well. no jamming no probs whatsoever but you do have to shoot hot rounds for it to work at its best. this firearm is very accurate and i would suggest it for anyone looking for a small rimfire pistol

The p22 is a great pistol. I have never had it jam , and i wonder if those who have, should just stick to the ones that shoot water.

Walther P22

Almost no problems with HV ammo. Some of the low priced HV ammo seemed under powered. Very few of the low priced ammo actually failed to fire or cycle the gun. If the ammo performed the gun worked fine. I seem to remember one stove pipe with hyper velocity ammo nominal 1450 fps. All the target velocity ammo 1150 fps second worked fine. All the quality HV ammo nominal 1250 fps work without problems. High velocity (HV) is the only ammo recommended in the Walther manual.

I have had this pistola for a couple years now. I have not shot a ton of rounds, but I do not believe I have ever had a jam. I use American Eagle, copper plated hollows. I buy the 400-round bricks. Ditto on the other comment about proper loading of the mag and tapping the backside against your palm to "seat" the rounds. Does it make a difference?--well, it doesn't NOT make a difference in my estimation. I have noticed that the selling price of the gun (which has not changed to my knowledge) has increased since I originally bought it.

What a great little gun. Never jams, even when dirty as heck. I have used every brand of ammo, from top end to blazer, always shoots. Easy to disassemble if you use a little piece of plastic to guide the spring pin. I use it as a snake gun, works great! I have owned several other 22 semi auto's, this is by far the best. I fire it at least 5 times per week, never a problem.

4 1/2 * actually.
Great little gun.
Accurate.
No jams, if you use jacketed ammo.
Pain in the ass to re-assemble!

Before I bought this gun, I asked if it jams, is it any good, etc. I got a mixed bag of answers. It looked good, and I've had a Walther previously, so I bought one. It doesn't jam, but you have to take particular care of how you put in the rounds in the magazine-one by one. If you pull that button on the side all the way down and dump the rounds in the mag, it will jam! Once I got it sighted in, it was as accurate as expected. I always clean my guns. The upside is-NO JAM! It's such a safe, accurate and fun shooter, I bring it everywhere! It is better than I expected!

Pretty disappointing for what I expected from a Walther. It suffers from poor reliability, poor quality, and so-so accuracy(yes I know it depends on the user). The pistol is also kind of a pain to take-down and reassemble due to the compensator and special reassembly tool.Buy a Ruger Mark III instead!

i have owned many 22 auto pistols in my life, this is by far the best,i bought mine new, i can shoot any type of ammo without any problems.it has a much better feed ramp than ruger or s&w,and others i've had. its accurate ,dependable, and lightwieght! cant beat that.

by: For my wife
I bought this gun for my wife as she had never shot a gun before. We have never had any issue with this fire arm. I am an offer of the law so we shoot a ton of different weapons and some time my wife is along for the ride. We shoot CCI AMMO with the P22. Great gun even for my two daughters. At the range the guys from our ERT team like to shoot the gun also. We have put about 1200 rounds in and not had any issue. I will say the gun is a pain in the butt is field dress.

I bought one and had many jams with winchester. Went to remington and the problem was solved. Good plinker, and nightstand piece. I have a 9mm p89, but I love that p22.

since i have ate my crow i have been back to the range. i must say that i have really come full circle with this little pistol. today i tried several types of ammo and they all performed rather well with no jamming. but i did learn that the most accurate was the lowest powered of the bunch and that was made by federal. i had a 7/8 in. group @ ten yards with an outside temperature of 17 degrees. needless to say i was rather pleased. i am going to buy my dad one now. and tell all of my friends about the great little shooter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great 22

I have owned guns for 20+ years. This is one fun gun. Very good handgun for a woman since it is a small size and accurate. To address the other posts, if your gun jams CLEAN IT or buy better rounds. You need high velocity rounds for it to work flawless. I have shot 1000+ rounds and no jams.

well i guess i'll have to eat crow. i took the gun apart and gave it a very thorough cleaning, and oiled it. i put it back together very carefully and took it to the range. i ran about 200 rounds through it and it never hung up 1 time. but it still isn't a tack driver. i will say that it is a very fun plinker for short distances and i may buy the longer barrell to see if i can drive some tacks!!!!!

i have one and it jams at least once on every clip. i love the feel and fit and would like to know how to fix the problem. i was told that it was a tack driver but their tacks must have been awfully large tacks!!!!

I have two of these little pistols one with a laser and on without. They are great fun for plinking. Reassembly is something to pay attention to if done correctly function should be flawless. If not you will have problems with feed and hammer; pay close attention to spring placement. I am looking forward to getting one of the new SP22's. Altough my p22's are not target pistols they gets a 5 for being so much fun to shoot. Every time I let someone use one at the range 10 out of 10 agree on the fun factor.

Bought this gun and love it. You need to shoot at least 200 rounds of jacketed ammo ie stingers to break it in. After that keep it clean and let her rip. Watch how you load the mags and you will not have any problems. Love this gun!
