Walther SP22 M2
By JRCline On 10/04/2008 Walther Hand Guns (Pistols) Walther SP22 M2 - Semi-automatic, Single Action, F
Bought one at the local range today and had the chance to five a couple hundred rounds through it. The good... 1...What little recoil there is is directed directly into the V of your hand between your thumb and fore finger. After I took the handgun apart I relized the frame is actually tilted so that the barrel isn't parallel with the ground as normal. The rear of the barrel and action rest lower than the front of the barrel into the grip. This directs any felt recoil into your hand and not sliding over it. 2...The gun is light and very accurate! I had no feed problems or malfunctions at all. I use only Winchester Super X and Wildcat .22 ammo. 3...The overal design of this gun is really amazing and you will stand out at the range with this gun, for proformance as well as looks. The bad... 1...For a target handgun the trigger is very mushy and long. Maybe the M3 and M4 have better triggers but if your the kind of person who demands a light, crisp trigger like that of a finely tuned Nastoff 1911, this isn't it. 2...While disasimbly isn't all that hard, three allen screws and a drift pin, the re-assembly can be a bit trying. The grip is used to hold several parts into place. So when you reasemble the frame into the grip you must be very careful and make sure the trigger transer bar and it's spring as well as the magazine latch and it's spring are properly positioned as you lower the frame into the grip. Overall I liked this gun and it has a lot of features as well as the oppertunity for many add ons later down the road. It shot well, the feel and ballance semmed very normal. It was accurate and reliable. Hopefully they will offer a factory upgrade for the trigger but I am sure if they don't some one else will.
